Role Description
The Landscape Architect will work full time on-site in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, collaborating closely with designers and clients to create integrated outdoor environments that complement KAB Designs’ visual identity. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing landscape concepts, preparing detailed planting and layout plans, and producing drawings, 3D models, and presentation materials. The role involves site visits, assessments, and coordination with contractors and vendors to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and sustainably. The Landscape Architect will also participate in client meetings, refine designs based on feedback, and support project documentation, scheduling, and basic cost estimates. This position requires consistent collaboration with the wider design team to align outdoor spaces with textile and product design projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Design, including concept development and detailed design.
Candidates should possess skills in Landscape Planning and Landscaping, including site analysis, layout, and implementation oversight.
Candidates should possess skills in developing Planting Plans, with an understanding of plant selection, climate considerations, and maintenance needs.
Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools) and familiarity with visualization tools.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong visual communication and presentation abilities, including preparing clear drawings, renderings, and written reports.
Ability to work collaboratively on-site, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Knowledge of sustainable design principles and local regulations or standards related to landscape development is advantageous.
