Senior Accountant

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.Review and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, provisions, and depreciation.Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account closing activities.Ensure proper classification and recording of income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.Review accounting documents and supporting records for completeness and accuracy.Identify and correct accounting discrepancies and errors.Prepare income statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and other financial reports.Analyze financial results and identify significant variances.Review and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.Verify supplier invoices, payment requests, and supporting documents.Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding balances.Reconcile customer and supplier accounts regularly.Perform regular bank reconciliations.Monitor cash balances and daily cash transactions.Review cash receipts, payments, transfers, and supporting documents.Monitor petty cash and ensure proper reconciliation.Ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax-related records and reports.Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and government inspections.Ensure accounting practices comply with applicable Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.Review payroll-related accounting entries and supporting documents.Reconcile payroll liabilities, deductions, taxes, and other employee-related payments.Ensure payroll expenses are properly recorded in the accounting system.Coordinate with HR on payroll-related accounting matters.Conduct periodic verification and reconciliation of fixed assets.Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.Prepare budget variance reports and provide explanations.Assist management with financial analysis and cost-control initiatives.Respond to audit queries and provide necessary explanations.Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.Identify weaknesses in accounting processes and recommend improvements.
