Job Description
Catholic Caritas Ethiopia Branch Office of Addis Ababa, Daughters of Charity Development Coordinating Office (DOC), is seeking a Junior Accountant for its head office in Addis Ababa. The position involves financial transaction processing, financial reporting, account reconciliation, record keeping, and accounting support for branch offices and projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Record, classify, post, and process financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, accurately and on time.
Prepare, analyze, consolidate, and report financial statements, including branch and project financial reports, in line with donor requirements and deadlines.
Reconcile and monitor bank, general ledger, receivable, and payable accounts and support timely settlement.
Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, DOC policies, procedures, and coding requirements.
Maintain and organize financial records, ledgers, journal vouchers, and supporting documents according to the DOC accounting system.
Provide accounting support to branch offices and follow up on their financial transactions and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
BA degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.
Experience
3 years of relevant experience.
Previous NGO experience is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Strong Excel and numerical skills.
Basic knowledge of accounting software.
Report writing skills.
Decision-making skills.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
Solution-focused and flexible approach to work.
