Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Hibret Bank is a full-time hybrid position based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the flexibility to perform some responsibilities from home. The Assistant Manager supports branch or departmental operations, oversees daily workflows, and ensures that service standards and regulatory requirements are consistently met. This role includes supervising team members, coordinating task assignments, monitoring performance metrics, and assisting with staff coaching and development. The Assistant Manager contributes to customer relationship management, handles escalated inquiries, and supports the implementation of new processes, policies, and banking products. The position also involves preparing reports, assisting with budgeting and resource planning, and collaborating with senior management to achieve operational and strategic objectives. Qualifications Strong banking and financial operations knowledge, including familiarity with Ethiopian banking regulations and compliance practices. Proficiency in leadership and people management skills, such as team supervision, performance monitoring, and staff mentoring. Competence in customer service and relationship management, with the ability to resolve complex client issues and maintain high service standards. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Organizational and analytical skills, including planning, prioritization, data analysis, and problem-solving to support operational efficiency. Comfort with digital tools and banking systems, including standard office software and core banking platforms. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage. Prior experience in banking or financial services, preferably in a supervisory or assistant management role. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, demonstrating reliability, accountability, and adaptability.
