Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a University Lecturer at Arba Minch University. The Lecturer will design, prepare, and deliver online lectures, seminars, and tutorials, ensuring that course materials are current, engaging, and aligned with program objectives. Typical responsibilities include assessing student performance, providing timely feedback, supervising student projects or theses, and maintaining accurate academic records. The Lecturer will participate in curriculum development, contribute to research and scholarly activities, and collaborate with colleagues on academic initiatives. Additional duties include academic advising, attending virtual departmental meetings, and supporting quality assurance and accreditation processes.
Qualifications
Strong teaching and instructional design skills for higher education, including experience developing syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment methods.
Proficiency with online and blended learning tools, learning management systems, and remote teaching technologies.
Research and scholarly skills, including the ability to conduct independent research, publish in peer-reviewed outlets, and supervise student research projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse learners.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple courses, deadlines, and remote collaboration responsibilities.
Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution; a doctoral degree is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching and continuous improvement in pedagogy.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and adapt to institutional policies and procedures.
Prior university-level teaching experience and familiarity with Ethiopian or international higher education standards are advantageous.
