About The Role
On behalf of our client, a
leading manufacturing company
, we are seeking an experienced and technically strong
Engineering & Technical Department Manager
to lead the company's engineering, maintenance, utilities, and technical operations across its manufacturing facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the
reliability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement of production and utility equipment
, while leading engineering projects, preventive maintenance, technical planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate mechanical, electrical, utility, and maintenance functions across manufacturing facilities.
Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production and utility equipment.
Ensure high levels of equipment availability, operational readiness, and reliability.
Lead engineering and technical projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
Develop and implement technical specifications, SOPs, maintenance procedures, and work orders.
Conduct and oversee Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment breakdowns and recurring technical issues.
Maintain equipment history files, maintenance records, and other technical documentation.
Plan and monitor requirements for spare parts, tools, lubricants, and other maintenance resources.
Develop initiatives to reduce maintenance, energy, fuel, and operational costs.
Participate in the selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning of production and auxiliary equipment.
Coordinate with external technical service providers and monitor their performance.
Develop technical capability-building and training programs for engineering and maintenance personnel.
Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
Prepare and submit regular weekly, monthly, and annual technical performance reports.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Minimum 9 years of relevant engineering/technical experience.
At least 7 years of experience in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in industrial maintenance, utilities, engineering operations, and production equipment.
Proven experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
Experience in engineering project execution, equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance planning is highly desirable.
