Role Description
The Journalist role is a full-time, remote position responsible for researching, developing, and delivering news and feature content related to Sapphire Solutions’ areas of expertise. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying story ideas, gathering information from internal subject-matter experts and external sources, conducting interviews, and verifying facts. The Journalist will write and edit articles, news briefs, press releases, and other communications for digital and broadcast channels, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational messaging. This role collaborates with communications and leadership teams to plan editorial calendars, maintain consistent tone and style, and adapt content for different audiences and platforms. The Journalist is expected to manage deadlines independently, maintain ethical reporting standards, and present complex information in accessible formats.
Qualifications
Strong writing skills, including News Writing and general Writing, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content.
Experience creating and formatting Press Releases that align with organizational messaging and media standards.
Proficient Research skills, including sourcing information, conducting interviews, and fact-checking for accuracy and credibility.
Knowledge of Broadcasting principles and familiarity with preparing content for audio, video, or other digital media channels.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Excellent editorial judgment, attention to detail, and adherence to ethical reporting and nonpartisan communication standards.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines consistently.
Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating with subject-matter experts in government or industry.
Familiarity with digital publishing tools, content management systems, and basic media or analytics platforms is beneficial.
