Role Description The Scout/Driver Acquisition Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Addis Ababa. This role is responsible for identifying, approaching, and onboarding new drivers and fleets for Melke’s mobility and delivery services. Daily activities include scouting potential drivers in designated areas, conducting information sessions, assisting drivers with registration and documentation, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process. The officer will maintain accurate driver records, follow up on leads, and coordinate with internal teams to meet acquisition targets and service quality standards. The role also involves providing basic orientation to new drivers, sharing company policies, and gathering feedback to improve driver experience and retention. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in field scouting, recruitment, or driver acquisition, with strong skills in identifying and engaging potential candidates. Proficiency in relationship-building and communication, including the ability to explain processes clearly and support drivers through onboarding. Basic data entry and documentation skills, with attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and handling required paperwork. Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple leads, follow-ups, and daily field activities efficiently. Knowledge of Addis Ababa’s geography and local transport ecosystem; prior experience in mobility, logistics, or fleet management is an advantage. Comfort working on-site and in the field, with the ability to meet acquisition targets and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Minimum of a high school diploma; additional vocational or higher education in business, sales, or related fields is beneficial. Fluency in local languages and working proficiency in English; basic computer literacy and familiarity with smartphone-based tools and apps.
