ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Inkomoko delivers comprehensive, client-centered business development services to MSMEs across its program locations, combining structured training, individualized coaching, and continuous follow-up to help entrepreneurs improve business performance, build resilience, and achieve sustainable growth.
To ensure continuity and quality of service delivery- even during staff transitions such as leave, illness, or unforeseen absences- Inkomoko is building a pre-qualified Business Advisor Talent Pool through its BA Academy. Successful candidates will be trained, certified, and placed on a standby roster for rapid, temporary deployment when staffing gaps arise across our program locations.
This is a unique opportunity to gain Inkomoko's methodologies, tools, and standards, and to be first in line for deployment opportunities as a Business Development Advisor (BDA) or Business Advisor (BA).
THE BA ACADEMY TRAINING PROGRAM
Component
What to Expect:
Selected Talent Pool members will participate in training and development opportunities provided by the organization. During the training period, participants will only receive a transportation allowance to support their participation.
Please note that inclusion in the Talent Pool does not guarantee employment or a paid role. Based on organizational needs and the availability of temporary placement opportunities, candidates who meet the required criteria may be considered for temporary work assignments.
Individuals selected for temporary placement roles will receive a contractual salary based on the requirements of the role, the candidate's experience and competency level, and the organization's applicable salary scale for that position.
Duration
7 working days (5 days guided self-paced learning + 2 days practical coaching and assessment)
Self-Paced Learning
Complete BA Academy modules, activities, reflections, quizzes, and exercises at your own pace, meeting daily milestones
Virtual Check-ins
Three facilitated 1-hour sessions to review progress and reinforce key concepts
Practical Skills Coaching
Two days of intensive, in-person coaching on client advisory, training facilitation, communication, and problem-solving
Role Plays & Simulations
Practice real-life client advisory conversations, coaching sessions, and group facilitation
Peer Learning
Learn through observation, feedback, and collaborative exercises
Assessment & Certification
Evaluated on module completion, participation, practical exercises, and overall readiness for the talent pool.

Candidates will be assessed on criteria including relevant education, experience, quality of application, BA Academy performance, simulation performance, and professionalism. Top-scoring candidates will be placed in the
pre-qualified Talent Pool
for deployment as staffing
needs arise.
Deployment
Once certified, candidates are held on a standby roster and may be deployed on a temporary basis when staffing gaps occur (e.g., resignation, promotion, relocation, leave, illness). Assignment duration depends on need, and performance is monitored throughout each deployment. Compensation for deployed candidates follows Inkomoko's approved Payment Scale and compensation framework in effect at the time of deployment.
Requirements
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're recruiting into two tracks:
Track 1: Business Development Advisor (BDA)- Experienced Candidates
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field
4+ years of relevant experience in business support, training, sales, consulting, or entrepreneurship (TOT certification desirable)
Practical experience delivering livelihood (self-reliance) programs, entrepreneurial training, and 1-1 business development services for vulnerable groups (refugees, IDPs, returnees, asylum seekers)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic financial literacy (profit, costs, cash flow concepts)
Basic digital literacy (Excel, data collection tools, reporting platforms)
Willingness to work in field-based settings, including travel to client locations
Preferred
Experience in training facilitation, coaching/mentoring, or adult learning techniques
Familiarity with local market dynamics in refugee-hosting sites and host communities
Proficiency in local languages relevant to the duty station
Track 2: Business Advisor (BA)- Fresh Graduates
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Recent graduate (within the last 2 years)
Strong academic performance and demonstrated willingness to learn and grow professionally
Internship, volunteer, campus leadership, entrepreneurship, or extracurricular experience is an added advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of entrepreneurship, small business development, and financial literacy concepts
Basic digital literacy (Microsoft Office; willingness to learn data collection/reporting tools)
Willingness to work in field-based settings, including remote communities
Preferred
Participation in entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation, or business development programs
Exposure to training facilitation, peer mentoring, coaching, or community engagement
Experience working with or volunteering with refugees, IDPs, host communities, youth, women, or other vulnerable groups
Familiarity with local market dynamics and entrepreneurship challenges in the duty station
Proficiency in local languages relevant to the duty station
