Eastern Health has services across the largest geographical area of any metropolitan health service in Victoria, covering 2,816 square kilometres. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health and state-wide specialist services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status and healthcare needs.
Eastern Health have a commitment to supporting the future development of school students in health career pathways. To that end, we partner with the Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLEN) to provide work experience opportunities to students from Catholic and Government schools. In addition to this, we have a direct relationship with a number of independent schools within our catchment area.

What’s the process for applying?
Applications are facilitated by the Gateway (Manningham and Whitehorse) / Outer East (Maroondah and Yarra Ranges) Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLEN), or by independent schools. Please contact your school or careers counsellor to discuss the application process.
Do you accept students from schools in other catchment areas?
Due to current capacity, we primarily support students in our local catchment areas (Manningham, Maroondah, Whitehorse, and Yarra Ranges LGAs). If you’re unsure about eligibility, please check with your school.
