Position: Internist (Internal Medicine Specialist)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient medical care for adult patients.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based practice.
- Perform detailed clinical assessments and develop individualized management plans.
- Interpret laboratory, imaging, ECG, and other diagnostic investigations.
- Manage patients with diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, infectious, endocrine, and other internal medicine disorders.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care and make appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Respond to medical emergencies and participate in inpatient consultations.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, treatment, and lifestyle modification.
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical audits, and continuous professional development activities.
- Adhere to institutional policies, ethical standards, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) with a recognized Specialty Certificate in Internal Medicine.
- Valid professional license to practice as an Internist in Ethiopia.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-specialization clinical experience (experienced candidates are highly encouraged to apply).
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and patient management skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records is an added advantage.
