Sales & Marketing Manager Chapa Financial Technologies S.C. | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia | Full-time | Reports to CEO About Chapa Chapa is Ethiopia's leading NBE-licensed online payment gateway, helping businesses, institutions, and government bodies accept and send payments securely. Our mission is to connect Ethiopian businesses to the global economy through seamless payment infrastructure. The Role We're hiring one person to own sales and marketing together, not split across two hires. You'll turn Chapa's strategy into commercial results: building pipeline, closing strategic merchants and partners, and growing the Chapa brand. This is a hands-on role. You'll be in the room with senior decision-makers as much as you're reviewing campaign data or coaching your team. What You'll Own Sales Build Chapa's annual sales strategy and pipeline across priority sectors: government, enterprise, e-commerce, remittance, healthcare, education, NGOs, and emerging verticals Lead acquisition of high-value merchants and partners; personally close strategic deals Set targets, own forecasting, and report commercial performance to leadership Grow existing accounts through cross-sell and upsell Marketing Own Chapa's brand and marketing strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, and web Produce content that tells Chapa's story: products, partnerships, merchant wins, milestones Run campaigns and track performance, leads, and ROI Track competitors and sector trends to inform positioning Team Lead, coach, and set targets for the sales and marketing team Build repeatable sales process: qualification, pipeline stages, follow-up standards Work closely with Product, Finance, Compliance, and Operations What Success Looks Like Revenue against target, merchant acquisition and retention, pipeline value and conversion, brand visibility and engagement, and team performance. What You Bring 5+ years in sales, marketing, or business development; 2+ years managing a team Track record closing high-value deals and running campaigns that convert Fintech, banking, payments, or tech experience strongly preferred Comfortable presenting to executives and government officials Fluent in English and Amharic
