The Department of Electrical Engineering at SIT is seeking highly driven graduate assistants to support the academic missions of the department. The ideal candidate will bring academic and technical excellence, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for working with electrical hardware and equipment. The role also supports a virtual teaching and mentoring program involving international faculty from the United States, Europe, and beyond.
Educational Level
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience assisting in core electrical laboratories; experience in electrical installation and wiring; experience with store keeping and inventory management systems.
Experience Required
Practical experience operating electrical laboratory equipment and ESD-safe handling of delicate electronic components

Requirements
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
Proficiency with electrical laboratory equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, power supply, LCR meter, and soldering & rework tools
Experience handling delicate electronic components and knowledge of ESD protection procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to educational quality, innovation, and community impact
Responsibilities
Assist in lectures and laboratory sessions, guiding students and supporting course delivery by professors
Collaborate with internal and international experts to design and deliver laboratory manuals and procedures
Coordinate the use of electrical laboratories and maintain their operational standards
Maintain and track electrical engineering components and equipment in the department
Perform student performance evaluations, tracking, and advising
Assist in extra-curricular activities such as field trips, student club activities, and academic conferences
Provide reports on academic progress and insights for the continual improvement of department performance
Participate in setting up electrical engineering labs
Create a conducive environment for research and innovation through collaboration and active participation
