Company Description Hwyet Home Based Care, Health Consultancy & CPD Training Center is a public health-focused organization based in Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia. The organization provides home-based healthcare, professional training (CPD), and health consultancy services that improve access to quality care for vulnerable communities. Key services include community health outreach, chronic disease follow-up, HIV/TB screening and linkage, and capacity building for health professionals. Hwyet has implemented targeted outreach programs for visually impaired students and underserved populations, identifying critical health needs and delivering timely interventions. The organization collaborates with government bodies, NGOs, and international partners to expand healthcare access and improve health outcomes. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mek'elē. The candidate will support home-based care services, assist with community outreach activities, and participate in HIV/TB screening, chronic disease follow-up, and patient linkage to appropriate services. Daily responsibilities may include collecting and documenting health data, engaging with community members and vulnerable groups, coordinating with health professionals, and helping organize CPD trainings and workshops. The role also involves working closely with supervisors to identify public health challenges, support interventions, and maintain clear communication with partner institutions. Qualifications Demonstrated interest in public health, community health, or home-based care services. Ability to engage respectfully with vulnerable populations and diverse community groups. Strong communication and documentation skills, including accurate record-keeping. Capacity to work collaboratively with health professionals, government institutions, NGOs, and partners. Basic understanding of chronic disease management, HIV/TB screening, or community health outreach is an advantage. Organizational skills to support training events, workshops, and field activities. Fluency in local languages and good command of English is beneficial. Relevant education in public health, nursing, health sciences, or related fields is preferred. Willingness to work on-site in Mek'elē and to participate in field-based activities.
