Our client is a prominent, well-established manufacturing company in Ethiopia specializing in high-quality paint, coatings, and industrial chemical products. Position Details Job Title: Senior Executive - EHS Client Industry: Paint & Chemical Manufacturing Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent Required Number: 1 Job Summary The Senior Executive - EHS will implement, maintain, and monitor the company's Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This role ensures absolute compliance with all local legal, regulatory, and corporate safety standards. The successful candidate will focus on driving a proactive safety culture, operational risk management, environmental sustainability, and continuous improvement across the organization. Key Responsibilities 1. EHS Compliance & Governance Ensure strict compliance with Ethiopian occupational health, safety, and environmental laws. Conduct comprehensive EHS risk assessments and recommend proactive corrective actions. Coordinate the timely renewal of EHS-related permits, licenses, and statutory certifications. Implement, track, and enforce the facility's Environmental Management Plan (EMP). 2. Health & Safety Management Execute regular workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and comprehensive field audits. Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses using root-cause analysis. Design and deliver safety induction programs and continuous training for all personnel. Maintain up-to-date documentation of safety metrics, incident reports, and corrective actions. Job Requirements Education & Experience Degree: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within the chemical, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors. Certifications: Professional EHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or local equivalents) are highly advantageous.
