Senior Electrical Engineer leads the design, supervision, and execution of all electrical systems within building projects. This role ensures that power distribution, lighting, ELV systems, and building services are designed and installed according to international standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. The engineer will coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and contractors to deliver reliable, efficient, and cost‑effective electrical solutions.
Develop and review electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, grounding, and ELV systems (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, data networks).
Prepare load calculations, single-line diagrams (SLD), panel schedules, and equipment sizing based on project requirements.
Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements submitted by contractors.
Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards (IEC, NEC, BS), and project specifications.
Conduct site inspections to monitor installation quality, progress, and adherence to approved drawings.
Coordinate with MEP teams, architects, and civil engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, and progress updates for management and clients.
Lead testing & commissioning activities for electrical systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
Evaluate and approve electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, lighting fixtures, and cables.
Identify design or installation conflicts, propose solutions, and support the project team in implementing corrective actions.
Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors, presenting technical updates and resolving issues.
Ensure proper documentation including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and compliance certificates.
Support cost estimation and BOQ preparation for electrical works during tendering or variation stages
About You
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
8–12 years of experience in electrical engineering for building projects (commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use).
Strong knowledge of electrical design software ( Revit MEP).
Solid understanding of building electrical systems, installation practices, and safety standards.
Experience in testing & commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality control.
Familiarity with MEP coordination and multidisciplinary project workflows.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
