Assistant Mechanic

Position: Assistant Mechanic Industry: Plastic Manufacturing Work Location: Kality Gabriel Area, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for a hardworking, responsible, and motivated Assistant Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment in our plastic manufacturing factory. The successful candidate will assist the mechanic in performing routine maintenance, identifying mechanical problems, and ensuring that production equipment operates efficiently and safely. Important Requirement: Applicants should live in or around the Kality Gabriel area and be able to commute to the factory reliably. Key Responsibilities Assist the mechanic in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing plastic manufacturing machinery. Support routine and preventive maintenance of production equipment. Help identify mechanical faults and report equipment problems promptly. Assist in repairing and replacing worn-out machine parts. Keep tools, workshop equipment, and the maintenance area clean and organized. Follow workplace safety procedures and factory maintenance standards. Support production staff in addressing machine breakdowns. Perform other related mechanical duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications and Requirements Technical training or a certificate in General Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, or a related field is an advantage. Basic knowledge of mechanical tools, machinery, and maintenance procedures. Previous experience in a plastic factory or manufacturing environment is an advantage but not mandatory. Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team. Good physical fitness and a responsible attitude toward work. Ability to follow safety instructions and work under supervision.
