Its core values emphasize sustainability, community well-being, accountability, respect for tradition and innovation, and equal opportunity, all aligned with its purpose and motto: “Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives.” Role Description The Internal Audit Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bishoftu, responsible for overseeing the internal audit function of the bank. This role includes planning and executing risk-based audit engagements across branches, departments, and processes to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management. The Internal Audit Manager reviews financial and operational activities, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and prepares clear audit reports with practical recommendations. The role also involves leading and mentoring audit staff, coordinating with management on remediation plans, and providing advisory support on control design for new products and systems. The Internal Audit Manager collaborates closely with senior leadership and relevant committees to promote a strong control culture and continuous improvement in audit practices. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to assess risks, evaluate processes, and interpret complex financial and operational data. Candidates should possess Finance and Accounting skills to understand banking operations, financial statements, and regulatory reporting requirements. Candidates should possess expertise in Internal Controls to design, evaluate, and strengthen control frameworks across the bank’s activities. Candidates should possess experience in Financial Audits to plan and conduct audit engagements, identify findings, and recommend corrective actions. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA, ACCA) are an added advantage. Proven experience in internal audit or risk management within banking or financial services, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to present audit results clearly to management and stakeholders.
