Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Geologist role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The geologist will conduct field investigations, including site visits, sampling, and geological mapping to characterize surface and subsurface conditions. Day-to-day tasks include logging core and drill samples, interpreting geophysical data, and preparing technical reports and maps. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support drilling programs, project planning, and environmental and resource assessments. The geologist will also maintain accurate records, follow safety and regulatory guidelines, and present findings to internal stakeholders and clients as needed. Qualifications Strong field-based skills, including Field Work and Geological Mapping, with the ability to work in varied terrain and weather conditions. Proficiency in Logging and Drilling activities, including core description, sample management, and coordination with drilling teams. Knowledge of Geophysics, with experience interpreting geophysical survey data to support subsurface characterization. Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field. Ability to use geological software and mapping tools (e.g., GIS, modeling software) and strong data analysis skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, maps, and presentations. Demonstrated attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and capability to work both independently and within a team. Prior experience in regional geology or resource exploration in Ethiopia or East Africa is an advantage.
