Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Koshe. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing periodic financial statements. Responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and cash accounts, managing expense reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The role will also involve ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, preparing documentation for audits, and supporting management with financial analysis and reporting. The Accountant will collaborate closely with program and operations teams to track project expenditures, monitor financial performance, and provide clear, accurate financial information to support decision-making.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial accounting and bookkeeping, including general ledger maintenance and preparation of financial statements.
Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, and the ability to produce accurate reports and analyses.
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control practices, preferably within nonprofits or media-focused organizations.
Understanding of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit procedures.
Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and work collaboratively across teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (such as CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
Relevant experience in an accounting role; experience in agriculture, media, or development sectors is a plus.
