About the jobWe are seeking a Junior Sales Executive to drive the growth and performance of our retail segment within the construction chemicals sector. This role involves direct engagement with retail outlets, distributors, and end customers to promote products, ensure optimal availability, and deliver excellent customer service.The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving sales targets, expanding the customer base, and strengthening market presence through proactive relationship management, in-store activations, and market insights. Working closely with internal teams, the Junior Sales Executive will also support efficient operations, stock availability, and the effective execution of promotional and product awareness initiatives.Key responsibilities:Conduct market research within the retail construction chemicals sector, including field surveys, to gather insights and identify growth opportunities.Build and maintain strong relationships with retail distributors and their customers by understanding their needs and recommending suitable product solutions.Demonstrate strong product knowledge to effectively communicate features, benefits, and application methods to customers.Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets through proactive sales activities and customer engagement.Monitor stock levels at retail outlets, report shortages, and ensure optimal product availability and merchandising standards.Maintain regular contact with key customer segments, including applicators, small contractors, builders, and retailers.Address customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution in coordination with relevant teams.Track and report on sales performance, providing regular updates and actionable insights to management.Gather and share market intelligence, including customer preferences, competitor activity, and pricing trends.Collaborate closely with internal teams (warehouse, logistics, and technical) to ensure seamless service delivery.Identify and develop new business opportunities by onboarding new customers such as small contractors and independent builders.Support in-store promotions, product demonstrations, and awareness campaigns to drive product adoption.Assess market opportunities and contribute to the introduction of new products to meet customer needs and achieve revenue targets.Drive the development of markets for both new and existing products to ensure sustainable revenue growth.Partner with internal stakeholders to effectively service key accounts, enhancing customer satisfaction and retention.Explore and execute business development initiatives with key accounts to support revenue growth objectives.Manage debt collection within the assigned area to ensure compliance with company credit policies.Maintain accurate and timely call reports and adhere to company reporting procedures and commercial administration systems.Continuously develop technical and product knowledge through collaboration with team members.Uphold strict ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all business dealings.Minimum requirements:Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Construction Management or Civil Engineering3-5 years’ experience working in a sales role with proven track record of achieving sales targetsPrevious experience in the construction industry will be advantageousExperience in retail sales, field sales, FMCG, or construction materials/chemicalsPrior exposure to customer-facing roles, product promotion, or retail shop visitsWilling to work on the ground dailyCommercial awareness – ability to identify opportunities and actionOperating in business to business environmentBroader understanding of economic drivers preferredSuccess at selling new concepts and productsOwnership of and engagement with continuous self developmentProven technical competence – understanding of technical concepts and ability to translate for commercial benefitThorough knowledge of business process (forecasting, sales reports, presentation skills, supply chain)Experience in market research (market trends, competition) for the annual budget processPrevious experience in working in accordance with sales policies, procedure and internal control measuresExperience in key accounts, distribution and retail salesAssertive, well spoken with good verbal and written communication skillsGood planning and organizational skillsStrong negotiation and persuasion skillsResilient and able to work under pressureAnalytical thinking and problem-solving logicComputer literacy (SAP, CRM, MS-Office)Fluent in English
