About the jobJob Title: Credit AnalystLocation: Addis Ababa, EthiopiaJob Description:The Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive credit assessments in line with company policies and Ethiopian financial regulations. The role involves gathering and verifying customer credit information, performing investigations, evaluating business risks, and ensuring proper credit documentation and control measures are implemented.Key Responsibilities:Conduct credit analysis in accordance with company credit policies and guidelines, as well as Ethiopian financial sector regulations.Collect, verify, and manage all customer credit documentation.Carry out detailed credit investigations (video, on-site, or through third-party verification) to assess customers’ financial standing and repayment capacity.Prepare detailed credit assessment reports and recommend appropriate credit limits and terms.Maintain and organize credit files, ensuring all contracts, certificates, and documents are properly recorded and filed.Implement risk control measures and ensure full compliance with internal procedures and local legal requirements.Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue accounts, and coordinate collection actions, including asset protection where necessary.Establish and manage partnerships with local banks, microfinance institutions, and other financial partners to facilitate customer financing.Conduct market and competitor research to understand market dynamics and provide insights to support credit policy development.Perform any other duties assigned by management.Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Management. A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial institutions, banking, or related fields. Experience in the construction machinery or heavy equipment industry is preferred.Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and credit report writing.Understanding of National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) credit and risk management regulations.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Willingness to travel frequently across different regions of Ethiopia.Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CPA are an advantage.Fluency in English; knowledge of the Chinese language is an added advantage...Familiarity with Ethiopian corporate laws, contract enforcement practices, and local business regulations.
