Role Description
The Digital Business Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Jimma, responsible for driving the growth and performance of the bank’s digital banking products and services. This role involves monitoring digital channels, analyzing usage trends, and identifying opportunities to enhance customer experience and financial inclusion through digital solutions. The Digital Business Officer collaborates with branch teams, IT, and business units to support implementation of new digital features, campaigns, and partnerships, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal standards. Daily tasks include supporting customers and staff in the use of digital platforms, preparing performance reports, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives for products such as mobile banking, Michu, and other digital offerings. The role requires proactive engagement with customers and communities to promote adoption of digital services and gather feedback for future enhancements.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret digital channel performance, customer data, and market trends, and to support data-driven decision-making.
Candidates should possess effective Communication and Interpersonal Communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, support branch staff, and clearly explain digital solutions to customers.
Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to provide responsive support for digital banking users and ensure a positive, inclusive experience across all channels.
Candidates should possess sound Business skills to understand banking operations, digital product lifecycles, and opportunities for growth and financial inclusion.
Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with digital banking platforms, basic knowledge of data and reporting tools, and experience in financial services or related sectors.
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, along with the ability to work on-site in Jimma and commit to full-time responsibilities.
