Job Description

Key Responsibilities:Financial Record Keeping & ReportingLead maintenance of accurate and timely financial records.Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Oversee reconciliation of bank statements, receivables, payables, and general ledger accounts.Deliver clear, structured financial reports to support management decision-making.Tax ComplianceManage preparation and submission of VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and annual income tax filings.Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and deadlines.Monitor regulatory changes and proactively advise the team.Month-End & Year-End ClosingTake ownership of month-end and year-end closing processes.Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and summary reports ensuring accuracy and completeness.Facilitate audit readiness and support audit activities.Internal Controls & ComplianceDevelop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls aligned with accounting standards and local regulations.Identify financial risks and lead risk mitigation strategies.Budgeting & ForecastingSupport preparation and review of budgets and forecasts.Analyze variances and recommend actionable improvements.Assist in cost monitoring and financial planning.Payroll & Employee BenefitsManage payroll processes ensuring tax compliance and accuracy.Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure timely disbursements.Audit & External CollaborationCoordinate and lead external audit activities.Liaise with tax authorities and regulatory bodies on compliance matters.Digital Process ImprovementLead the digitization and automation of financial systems and reporting.Identify and implement digital tools to streamline accounting workflows.Champion finance digital transformation and dashboard reporting.Warehouse Financial Oversight & GovernanceCollaborate closely with warehouse operations to align financial controls with stock movements.Ensure inventory and asset data is accurately captured in financial systems.Support digital inventory tracking and regular stock reconciliations.Monitor and report on asset movement, losses, and warehouse accountability.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 6 years of professional accounting experience with deep knowledge of Ethiopian tax and financial regulations.Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Solid understanding of inventory-related accounting and compliance.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in e-commerce, logistics, or fast-paced technology-driven companies.Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory management, and stock control systems.Proven ability to build and improve financial systems from the ground up.Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.Expectations:Flexibility to take on responsibilities beyond traditional accounting scopes.Strong ownership and accountability, particularly around warehouse and asset controls.Commitment to accuracy, deadlines, and continuous process improvements.Collaborative approach to work closely with warehouse, sourcing, and operations teams
