About the jobOverviewThe Project Implementation Advisor is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities to ensure effective and timely delivery. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Advisor works closely with program, technical, and operations teams to align implementation with project goals, donor requirements, and national priorities. The role also involves engaging with stakeholders, monitoring progress, and contributing to adaptive project management.Responsibilities Project Planning and Start-UpAssist in developing detailed activity plans and operational timelines in collaboration with project teams.Support project start-up activities including team orientation, stakeholder briefings, and launch events.Contribute to refining technical approaches and ensuring readiness for implementation. Project Implementation and CoordinationMonitor implementation progress and provide day-to-day support to ensure activity delivery meets quality and schedule expectations.Coordinate with program, technical, and operations staff to ensure smooth execution of project activities.Facilitate coordination among implementing partners, government stakeholders, and community actors.Provide administrative and logistical support for program-related meetings, workshops, field visits, and events in both Addis Ababa and the regions.Support tracking program expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets, working closely with finance and operations teams. Stakeholder EngagementLiaise with regional and local government counterparts and other partners to align efforts and ensure local ownership.Represent the project in stakeholder meetings and technical working groups as assigned by the Project Manager.Support the organization of coordination meetings, joint planning sessions, and learning events. Monitoring, Evaluation and LearningSupport performance monitoring, field reviews, and quality assurance visits.Lead the preparation of high-quality project performance reports, including quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports for the donor and other stakeholders. Capacity Building and SupportIdentify technical or operational gaps in implementation and support solutions through training or mentorship.Assist in the development or adaptation of training materials, job aids, and implementation tools.Participate in or lead on-site coaching and capacity-strengthening activities for field teams. Quality and CompliancePromote adherence to donor regulations, internal policies, and quality standards in all project activities.Help identify and mitigate implementation risks in collaboration with the Project Manager.Contribute to project reviews, audits, and compliance assessments as needed. Resource and Budget SupportMonitor activity-level expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.Support procurement and logistics planning to ensure timely availability of materials and services.Participate in budget tracking and resource forecasting exercises.  Documentation and Knowledge SharingDocument project experiences, lessons learned, and best practices.Contribute to internal and external knowledge-sharing platforms.Support the preparation of reports, case studies, and communication materials.Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public health, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field (master’s degree preferred).  Minimum 7 to 8 years of experience in project implementation within an NGO or development context.  Experience in coordinating implementation activities with partners, local government, and technical staff.  Strong understanding of donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.  Excellent communication, planning, and interpersonal skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project tracking tools.  Willingness to travel to project implementation sites. Preferred Qualifications Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities  Effective communication and interpersonal engagement  Results-driven with attention to detail  Adaptability and flexibility  Commitment to teamwork and collaborative work environments  Upholding organizational and donor standards Salary: Between 22,966 - 33,563 USD per annum.Jhpiego offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive employee benefits package.Please apply at www.jobs-jhpiego.icims.comApplicants must submit a single document for upload to include: cover letter, resume, and references.
