Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Protocol and Customs Analyst, the Intern will contribute to the following tasks:Protocol Services: Provide support in the processing of residence permits, entry and exit visas, and visa extensions by liaising with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration. Ensure that all required documentation is accurately prepared and submitted in a timely manner, and follow up on approvals and renewals as needed.Logistical Support: Facilitate customs clearance and shipment logistics by coordinating with relevant government authorities such as the Customs Commission and local customs clearing agents. Ensure the preparation and submission of all necessary documentation, manage official correspondence, and monitor the progress of shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date records related to protocol and logistics activities. Assist in the filing, retrieval, and archiving of official documents. Cost Recovery: Assist in preparing cost recovery documentation for the services provided by the unit.Communication: Serve as a liaison between programme teams and UN agencies to facilitate smooth and effective information exchange and timely follow-up on pending actions. ExperienceApplicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Availability to work full-time for six consecutive months.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to adapt messages to various audiences.Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.LanguageFluency in spoken and written English and Amharic.
