About the jobApplication period 16-Jan-2025 to 22-Jan-2025Functional Responsibilities:The Portfolio Senior Manager reports to the Program Management Office Team Leader and Country Program Coordinator, and will be responsible for the following duties. Quality Assurance Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure projects comply with audit requirements.Works with procurement/purchasing staff to ensure effective interfaces with suppliers' quality systems.Coordinates quality reviews of project documents and deliverables.Provides quality control for management outputs (e.g., project documents, reports). Knowledge Management and Innovation Encourages the routine and effective conduct of capacity-building activities to build the long-term and sustainable capacity of staff.Actively engages with other Portfolio, Programme, and Project Managers, and the wider PM community to share case studies, lessons learned, and best practices.Contributes to the oversight of lessons learned procedures, ensuring timely and appropriate sharing of lessons learned. Participates in relevant Communities of Practice.Researches and logs lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.Provides feedback to Practice Groups on policy and supporting guidance to contribute to the continuous improvement of UNOPS policies.Education/Experience/Language requirements:EducationAn advanced university degree (Masters Degree) in Project Management, Business Administration, Political Studies, Development Studies, International Relations, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant discipline is required.A first level university degree (Bachelor's Degree) combined with 2 additional years of relevant professional experience in Project Management, Business Administration, Political Studies, Development Studies, International Relations, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant discipline may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.CertificationsPRINCE2® Foundation certification or equivalent is an asset, but required completion within first 6 months of onboarding PRINCE2® Practitioner certification or equivalent would be an asset CIPS 4 and above and/or other procurement certification highly desirable Complete the UNOPS Project Management Foundation course, and UNOPS Procurement Operations Training (within one year after signing this TOR) ExperienceAt least seven (7) years of progressive experience in project management required, with focus on project implementation, partner management, monitoring and reporting is required. Within these 7 years, at least years (2) years of progressive procurement and supply chain management experience involving purchasing of high-value goods & services for complex projects is required. At least two (2) years experience with Leading and Managing teams and units particularly in the area of project, procurement and/or supply chain management is required. LanguageFluency in writing, reading, and spoken English is required.Knowledge of another UN Official language is an asset.
