Cost Section Head

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Educational Qualifications BA or MBA Degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Training in Peachtree accounting software and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is required. Work Experience Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience. At least 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position leading a finance team. Required Skills Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory valuation. Experience in manufacturing cost analysis and budget control. Proficiency in Peachtree accounting software and IFRS. Knowledge of standard costing, production overhead allocation, and inventory management. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Leadership and financial reporting abilities. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain standard costs for finished goods, semi-finished goods, and raw materials. Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production processes with engineering and production teams. Calculate and allocate manufacturing overhead, labour, and machine-hour costs. Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions. Monitor production waste, scrap, and rework costs. Track departmental operating expenses against approved budgets. Supervise inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits. Ensure compliance with internal inventory and cost control procedures. Coordinate with external auditors regarding inventory and costing matters. Prepare cost analysis reports to support management decisions.
