POSITION SUMMARYIntern Data Encoder is a contract-based internship opportunity for a highly organized individual willing to contribute to BEB’s mission of transforming global child welfare system through technology and collaboration. The data encoder will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and informative data entry into Children First Software (CFS). The primary tasks include converting paper documents into clear and concise summaries within CFS, maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency in data entry, and upholding the privacy of sensitive information following strict protocols.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Encode paper-based information and documents into CFSDocument preparation and scanning for digital conversion. This includes operating document scanners to create high-quality digital documents that will permanently be saved in CFSCarefully review and comprehend the content of the paper documents, paying close attention to details and ensuring a thorough understanding of the information presentedCreate clear and informative summaries of the information presented in the documents, ensuring that the key points and details are accurately captured in a succinct manner.Evaluate for accuracy, consistency, and comprehensiveness of the data being entered into CFSUphold confidentiality and preventing unauthorized access or disclosure of sensitive dataComprehensively grasp CFS functionalities and adequately implement assigned tasksCommunicate frequently work progress and challenges with the BEB team to quickly resolve challenges that may impede CFS implementationMaintain BEB’s strong working relationship with our partners, prioritizing open communication, mutual respect and collaborationQUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERED SKILLS First degree (or bachelor's degree) preferred in social work or computer science.Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic for effective data translation and encoding.Skilled at writing clear, concise, and informative summaries that capture the essence of reviewed documents.Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, and teamwork.Demonstrates initiative, not only by successfully completing assigned tasks but also by proactively identifying potential work.Comfortable with technology and has the ability to learn new software quickly.Proficient in using computer systems and common software products (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).Strong problem-solving skills.Analyzes documents to identify the most important information for summaries.Strong collaboration skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships, emphasizing open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork.QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERED SKILLSQualified and interested applicants can submit credentials and relevant documents to the following emails: apply@yes.etApplications will be acceptable if submitted before July 10
