About the jobPosition Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Addis Ababa, EthiopiaReports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Job OverviewThe Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial management of our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, be adept at using ERP systems, and possess strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and cost accounting. This position will require close collaboration with the CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective cost management.Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to the CFO. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Cost Accounting: Implement and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures. Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Conduct variance analysis between standard and actual costs. ERP System Management: Utilize ERP systems for financial management, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Support ERP system upgrades and improvements, providing training and guidance to staff as needed. Ensure proper integration of ERP system with other business processes. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including IFRS. Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including Ministry of Revenue tax audit. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CFO and senior management. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support business objectives. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA part qualified certification is preferred. IFRS Diploma/Certificate is also advantageous. Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment at least 2 – 3 years of accounting experience at a senior level. In-depth knowledge of IFRS and cost accounting principles. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., ERP Next, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Application ProcessInterested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience and qualifications to tibebu_bogale@yahoo.com by 15 July 2024.
