About the jobPURPOSE OF THIS ROLEResponsible for the day-to-day collection and reconciliation of residential customer accounts in a manner that ensures high customer satisfaction and loyalty. This role must be able to communicate effectively and politely with customers to ensure high customer retention and satisfaction.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES People managementManage, coach, mentor, and lead high-performing individuals to achieve their individual, business, and career objectivesManage administrative tasks around people management (e.g. leave requests, etc.)Credit Control (Branch and 3rd party collections for Commercial and Residential)Review reconciliations and daily cash collection reports (Vendor statements, Clarity shift reports, Z-reports, Maraki, etc)Perform corrective actions (refunds, journals, reversals, etc)Liaise with 3rd parties for prompt collection of outstanding debt as per policyNegotiate re-payment plans (as applicable), as per policyImplement appropriate sanctions for non-complying customers, as per policyDSTV Business Operations SupportReview to verify up-to-date posting and allocation of daily receipts to accounting systems to enable activation of new accounts or reconnection of existing accounts (Residential and Commercial customers.FocalizationSupport the Submission and Payment of monthly VAT declarations.Reporting & AnalysisReview management reportsReview various trends, scorecards, dashboards, and aging analyses.RemittancesSupport applications and liaison with Bank and CorporateReview the Debtor's confirmation (Subscription statement) from Corporate and resolve queriesProduce Treasury reports, such as the Remittance application pipeline, actual remittances made, and cash balances.Supporting MAH Tax mattersPrepare and Submit tax monthly and annual tax reports and returns and timely Pay corresponding tax amountReport Annual tax returns; and monthly VAT reports; Collect and document tax decision letters, payment invoices, and periodic declarationsReport the status of the tax follow-up to MAH.project Support execution of in-country / MAH identified Projects in Finance (e.g. recon automation)Support in-country / Corporate risk reviews and Internal-/External audits.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEThe incumbent is required to have the following qualifications and experience level:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and FinanceACCA or equivalent qualificationA minimum of 3 – 5 years in a similar role.FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIESThe incumbent is required to have the following functional competencies:Statutory understanding (Companies Act and Tax)Strong financial and accounting knowledgeFinancial analysis experienceManagement capabilitiesConflict resolution experienceStrong negotiatorCommercial experienceCredit Control ProcessesApplications such as Excel, PPTData analytics and reporting advantageousBEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIESBusiness partneringAttention to DetailTime ManagementProblem-solvingCustomer service OrientationResilience and PersistenceTeamwork and collaborationEthics, confidentiality, and Integrity Customer-focused but assertiveHigh regard for company policies & procedures.
