Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Senior Accountant is mainly responsible for account closing and financial reportpreparation, taxation, and internal control system follow ups. The job holder is alsoresponsible for account coding & encoding, account receivable, payment authorization, taxfilling and tax audit coordination, and coaching and managing staff under his/hersupervision. She/he will also be responsible for import cost accumulation and posting.She/he will reports to General Manager of the Company.Reports to:  General ManagerEnsure that financial policies & guidelines are properly implementedVerify and approve cheque payments and follow ups aged receivables as required Ensure that account closing process is prepared in accordance with IFRS standardsEnsure that the account closing processes (coding and posting) are current and internalcontrol system is intactEnsure that tax compliance is properly discharged.Ensure that bank loan and insurance policies are properly managed Produce financial statements and analysis report to the GM. Discuss with the financial consultant, GM and the management groups about Company’sannual sales strategy, new projects, and related. Monitor and execute loan management, cash management, inventory management and fixedasset registration and liaison with the financial institutions and insurance Company for issuesrelated the Company. Make sure periodical physical inventory is undertaken annually Stock Control and ManagementPrepare cost build-up Summery sheet for all the imported goods and close to the stock account; Efficiently filing and safely securing the originals of all import original shipments files (classers) and their related documents, receipts, and banks' advice. Monitor and make sure to receive all supporting documents and complete clearance of all issued payments (receipts, invoices, agreements, advice, etc.). Record, schedule, follow-up, and timely process all company's monthly, periodically, and annual due payments. Efficiently filing and safely securing the originals of all payments vouchers, payments vouchers pads, all payments original supporting documents, AND all import original shipments files (classers) and their related documents, receipts, and banks' advice. Monitor and track import costs, tariffs, and taxes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline import processes and optimize cost efficiencies.Facilitate external audit annually and ERCA audit every five years. Prepare budget forecasts Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statementsAudit financial transactions and documents Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessaryFunction Characteristics Takes responsibility for the entire finance functionCan work alone and make important decisionsBehavioral IndicatorsAnalyses problems and makes sure they will get fixed Takes a proactive role in improving the finance function Makes sure that work gets finished Walks the extra mile Truly passionateJob Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor degree in accounting or related field.5+ years of work experience in financeKnowledge of financial accounting standards and practices. Strong computer skills, with proficiency in accounting software.Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
