As part of this assignment, we are assembling a team, which should include experts in the financial sector, banking sector, implementation management, procurement, capacity building, environmental social & health management, finance, and monitoring & evaluation. The Key Expert should be experienced in compiling reports for international donors, preferably KfW and the World BankSpecific Roles and Responsibilities:Assist Gargaara with the measures and actions stated in the ESMF. The IC shall follow the recommendations of the gap analysis and define suitable measures to close the gaps:Finalise Gargaara’s grievance mechanism (overall framework has been instated by World Bank but needs to be adjusted and adopted to Gargaara’s requirements) and submit to KfW for Non-Objection within 12 months of the signing of the Separate Agreement (in any case no later than before the start of on-lending).Labor management practices and procedures to be screened and updated / amended within 12 months and to be implemented.Support Gargaara in developing a detailed Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) for Non-Objection of KfW prior to commencement of on-lending. Thiswill include assisting the PFIs to implement the relevant provisions of the ESMS accordingly if applicable to on-lending.Support Gargaara to contractually oblige PFIs to comply with the implementation of the ESMS for on-lending activities.About YouSelection Criteria:Qualifications:Graduate (Master or Diploma) in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Social Science (with ESHM focus) or any related field.Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in ESHM (e.g. environmental and social risk management, socio-economic issues, health, safety, and labor)Proven experience in setting up an ESHM system based on international standards, ideally in banks / financial institutions; while experience in working with international standards is obligatory, proven familiarity with the respective Somalian standards is a plus.Experience in projects financed by KfW Development Bank, World Bank, or other international donors.Previous experience in East Africa (ideally Horn of Africa) is a must.Experience in developing suitable grievance mechanisms, ideally in the context of local social norms in Muslim countries.Experience in training ESHS skills (development and presentation of trainings)Proficiency in English is a must, fluency in Somali would be a plus.How To ApplyTo express interest,click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
