Senior Nutrition Manager / Officer (Nutrition-Sensitive Food Systems & Agriculture Programming) Project Child Food Poverty Advocacy and Local Food Solutions Duration One Year renewable subject to performance and continued program funding Duty Station Addis Ababa, with frequent field travel to priority regions Reporting To YADAM CEO / Program Manager Contract Type One Year renewable subject to performance and continued program funding Date August 7 2026 BACKGROUND                                                                                                                                                                                                                          YADAM Foundation is seeking a Senior Nutrition Manager/Officer to provide technical leadership on nutrition and food-systems programming — combining nutrition policy advocacy and evidence generation with the design, resource mobilization, and coordination of nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food systems projects across Ethiopia PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT YADAM Foundation, in partnership with UNICEF, is seeking a Senior Nutrition Specialist Consultant to provide technical leadership on advocacy and evidence-generation activities, translating national commitments (FNS 2021–2030, Seqota Declaration, N4G Paris 2025) into concrete regional policy and action to reduce child food poverty. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical leadership on nutrition-sensitive food systems and agriculture programming, integrating approaches such as crop diversification, homestead gardening, and value chain strengthening Align project activities with Ethiopia’s Food and Nutrition Policy/Strategy, Seqota Declaration, N4G commitments, SDGs, and the UNICEF Child Food Poverty Framework Synthesize evidence on drivers of child food poverty and malnutrition, and translate findings into policy briefs and advocacy recommendations Lead resource mobilization: identify funding opportunities and draft concept notes, technical proposals, budgets, and partnership agreements Design and co-facilitate policy dialogues, roundtables, workshops, and multi-stakeholder consultations with government, donors, and communities Coordinate with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture, regional bureaus, UN agencies, and development partners to align activities with national priorities Represent YADAM Foundation in technical working groups, donor coordination forums, and sector-level meetings Support the design, planning, and implementation of food systems and agriculture projects, integrating nutrition-sensitive approaches such as crop diversification, homestead gardening, and value chain strengthening Proactively identify, track, and screen calls for proposals (CFPs), grants, and funding opportunities from bilateral, multilateral, UN, and foundation donors relevant to food systems, agriculture, and nutrition Organize and facilitate workshops, trainings, and stakeholder consultations for government counterparts, farmer groups, cooperatives, and development partners Monitor project implementation against work plans, track indicators, and prepare periodic progress and donor reports Support monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) activities, including data collection and documentation of results Contribute to knowledge products, case studies, and communications materials showcasing project results and lessons learned Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned by the CEO/Programmed Manager in support of project and organizational objectives KEY DELIVERABLES Project work plans, implementation frameworks, and periodic progress reports Portfolio of concept notes and technical proposals submitted, and a tracker of active funding opportunities Resource mobilization strategy and donor/partnership mapping Workshop, training, and stakeholder engagement reports MEAL data and documentation contributing to project reporting requirement About You REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Public Health Nutrition, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Food Systems, Rural Development, or a related field; additional training or background in Nutrition is an asset Minimum 5 years of progressive professional experience in agriculture, food systems, or nutrition-sensitive project design and implementation Demonstrated experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization, with a track record of successful funding applications Experience organizing and facilitating workshops, trainings, or multi-stakeholder meetings Familiarity with major donor requirements and procedures (e.g., UN agencies, USAID, EU, foundations) is highly desirable Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s agriculture and food systems policy environment Excellent written and spoken English, with strong report- and proposal-writing skills Strong interpersonal, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills Proficiency in MS Office and standard project management/reporting tools Track record working with government agencies or UN bodies is highly desirable Deep knowledge of child nutrition, policy analysis, and workshop facilitation EVALUATION / SELECTION CRITERIA Technical proposal / written test quality — 40% Relevant professional experience in food systems, agriculture, or nutrition-sensitive programming — 30% Interview performance — 30% Method of Application Interested and qualified candidates should submit the following documents to [email protected] [email protected] by up to August 17 2026 quoting the position title in the subject line: A cover letter summarizing relevant experience and suitability for the assignment An updated CV/resume, including at least three professional references A brief technical proposal outlining the proposed approach and methodology for Phases 1–3 (maximum 3 pages) Evidence of at least one comparable assignment previously delivered YADAM Foundation is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds.
