The position focuses on commercial seed production, grower management, crop production activities, and seed production quality and compliance. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in Agriculture, at least 5 years of experience in seed production management, a valid driving license, and the ability to work at remote production sites. Job Summary The Field Production Supervisor will be responsible for sourcing and developing a grower network for commercial seed hybrids and supporting commercial seed production goals. The role includes grower evaluation and recruitment, crop planning, grower account management, supervision of field production activities, production performance reviews, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Employer: Bayer Job Title: Field Production Supervisor Job Category: Agriculture / Seed Production Division: Crop Science Location: Ethiopia Employment Type: Permanent Position Grade: E13 Reference Code: 890453 Advertising Period: October 7–20, 2026 About the Role The Field Production Supervisor will support commercial seed production by developing and managing grower networks and supervising production activities from land preparation through harvest and post-harvest operations. The role also involves working with internal teams, growers, government seed inspectors, and other stakeholders involved in seed production. Key Responsibilities Conduct annual grower evaluations to ensure compliant and high-performing growers are retained on the grower register. Ensure surface allocations align with the country crop plan and that growers are assigned according to the crop plan. Source and recruit new growers and develop existing growers to support the long-range crop plan. Ensure compliance with relevant P2P processes and government regulations. Assign appropriate grower accounts in SAP and manage SAP grower account processes. Ensure compliance with internal company policies and external regulations related to seed production. Supervise land preparation, planting, crop development, detasseling, male removal, dry-downs, harvesting, and post-harvest activities. Participate in dispute management with growers. Contribute to production performance reviews and improvement plan follow-ups, including area analysis processes. Ensure Bayer’s human rights and ESH policies and guidelines are implemented at growing sites. Ensure cases of non-compliance are addressed according to applicable policies.
