Job Description
We build and run data-intensive software: backend services, databases, web interfaces, and the infrastructure under them. We're hiring an engineer to work across all of it.
You'll take work from a real need to a running deployment, and you'll investigate when something breaks. You'll also spend time with the people who use the systems, learning how they work and changing the software to fit.
What you'll do
Build backend services, APIs and integrations, mostly in Go
Design database schemas and data flows
Build web interfaces in TypeScript when the work needs them
Deploy with Docker and Kubernetes, set up monitoring, and fix failures
Write tests, and documentation that people actually read
What we're looking for
3+ years building software that real users depended on in production
Comfortable with SQL, Linux, and working out problems from logs
Able to find your way around code you didn't write, make a decision, and explain it
You use AI coding tools, and you rigorously test and review what they produce
Good written English
Go experience counts for a lot. Python and TypeScript are useful.
How we hire
If your application fits, we'll ask you to describe a software or data system you built and ran.
A practical task using the AI tools you normally use. We'll look at how you direct them, how you check the output, and whether you can explain the code afterwards.
A conversation about the work and how you'd approach it.
