Budget & Cost Division Head

Job brief People First Consult is looking for a highly analytical and results-oriented Head of Cost and Budget on behalf of a well-established industrial manufacturing company within a prominent Ethiopian business group. The successful candidate will lead budgeting, cost management, financial planning, and performance analysis to strengthen cost efficiency, financial discipline, and informed business decision-making. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation, consolidation, and monitoring of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Oversee cost accounting, product costing, cost allocation, and variance analysis. Monitor production and operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and performance dashboards. Collaborate with Finance, Production, Procurement, and other departments to improve cost control and resource utilization. Strengthen budgetary controls, reporting procedures, and cost management systems. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA is an advantage. At least 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a managerial role. Strong experience in budgeting, cost accounting, financial analysis, and management reporting. Manufacturing-sector experience, particularly in product costing and production cost analysis, is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, numerical, communication, and leadership skills.
