Assistant Manager - Project Sales

Job Purpose To drive sales growth and market penetration for Paints, Waterproofing Systems, Floor Coatings, Tile Adhesives, Repair & Rehabilitation Products, and Construction Chemicals through project sales, specification selling, contractor engagement, consultant management, applicator development, and key account management. The role is responsible for achieving sales targets, generating project pipelines, securing product specifications, and delivering profitable business growth across direct and channel sales segments. Job Responsibilities 1. Business Development & Sales Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. Develop business opportunities in Decorative Paints, Waterproofing Systems, Tile Adhesives, Repair & Rehabilitation Products, Epoxy & PU Floor Coatings, and Construction Chemicals. Identify and track new project opportunities and develop a strong project pipeline. Generate enquiries and convert them into successful orders. Build and maintain a strong sales funnel and forecasting system. Monitor competition, pricing strategies, and market developments. Drive direct project sales and channel sales growth. Support business expansion and market penetration initiatives. 2. Project Specification Management Secure product approvals from consultants, architects, developers, and project owners. Promote inclusion of company products in project specifications and Bills of Quantities (BOQs). Conduct technical presentations and specification meetings. Follow up approved specifications until project conversion. Build and maintain relationships with consultants, architects, design firms, and PMC teams. Support preparation of technical proposals, method statements, and compliance documentation. 3. Key Account Management Manage and develop relationships with developers, main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, government authorities, industrial accounts, facility management companies, and infrastructure clients. Conduct regular customer visits, review ongoing and upcoming projects, deliver product presentations, negotiate commercial agreements, participate in contract discussions, develop long-term strategic business relationships, expand key accounts and project opportunities. 4. Contractor & Applicator Development Recruit and develop qualified contractors and applicators. Conduct applicator engagement and development programs. Organize contractor seminars and technical workshops. Support applicators through product knowledge training, mock-ups, site demonstrations, and technical troubleshooting and problem solving. Build and maintain a loyal and productive applicator network. Monitor project execution quality through the applicator ecosystem. 5. Mock-ups, Sampling & Demonstrations Plan and execute product demonstrations and mock-ups. Conduct mock-ups for interior paint systems, exterior paint systems, waterproofing systems, tile adhesives, floor coatings, and repair & rehabilitation products. Support consultants, contractors, and clients during product evaluations. Convert samples and trial applications into commercial orders. 6. Technical Sales Support Recommend suitable system solutions based on project requirements. Interpret project specifications and BOQs. Coordinate with technical teams regarding product selection, site inspections, technical submittals, method statements, and compliance statements. 7. Channel Development for Projects Appoint, manage, and develop dealers and distributors. Conduct regular dealer visits and performance reviews. Develop dealer and retailer engagement programs. Generate project leads through channel partners. Ensure channel profitability and optimum stock management. Improve market coverage and product availability. 8. Collection & Commercial Management Ensure timely quotation submission and order closure. Monitor project receivables and overdue collections. Review project profitability and margins. Coordinate with Finance on customer credit approvals. Ensure compliance with company commercial policies and procedures. Support tender pricing, bid submissions, and contract negotiations. 9. CRM & Reporting Maintain an accurate project database and sales pipeline. Update CRM systems regularly. Track and monitor: Leads; Opportunities; Specifications; Projects; Customers Applicators Submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Prepare sales forecasts and market intelligence reports. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in: Civil Engineering (Highly Preferred); Construction Management; Architecture; Marketing; Business Administration; Other related fields MBA or master’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Engineering Management, or related fields is highly advantageous. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience for Bachelor’s degree holders. Technical Competencies: Technical Proposal Preparation, Project Sales Management, Tender Management, CRM Systems Utilization Behavioral Competencies: Leadership and Team Management, Strong Communication and Presentation Skills, Problem Solving and Decision Making.
