The center operates 14 beds, including 10 ward beds and 4 ICU beds, to support patients with diverse cardiac conditions. Care is delivered to all age groups, combining surgical expertise, advanced intensive care, and focused follow-up services. The hospital emphasizes compassionate, high-quality treatment and a collaborative clinical environment, offering interns exposure to specialized cardiac care and patient-centered practices. Role Description The Unpaid Internship Medical Video Host role is a Part time, on-site position based at Selam Cardiac Care Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Interns will present and host educational medical videos, introducing topics, interviewing clinicians, and guiding viewers through cardiac health information for patient and public education. Day-to-day tasks include preparing scripts or talking points, coordinating with medical staff to ensure clinical accuracy, and participating in video recordings and live educational sessions. The intern will help shape content that is clear, accessible, and culturally sensitive, support basic production activities as needed, and engage with patients and visitors to explain the purpose of educational materials. This position offers training and mentorship in medical communication, on-camera presentation, and patient education within a specialized cardiac care setting. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear spoken English (and local languages as applicable), confident on-camera presence, and the ability to explain medical concepts in simple, accessible terms. Candidates should possess Customer Service and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with patients, families, and staff, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a supportive attitude. Candidates should possess Training and presentation skills, with the ability to learn medical content, follow guidance from clinicians, and help deliver structured educational messages to diverse audiences. Candidates should possess basic Sales and persuasion skills to encourage engagement with educational programs and promote healthy behaviors without pressure or bias. Candidates should possess professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work full-time on-site, including strong time management and willingness to follow hospital protocols. Candidates should possess an interest in healthcare or media, with a background or ongoing studies in health sciences, communications, journalism, or related fields considered an advantage. Candidates should possess basic familiarity with video or social media platforms; experience with content creation, script reading, or public speaking is beneficial but not required.
