Job Description The Department of Biotechnology at SIT is seeking a vibrant and visionary department coordinator with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or Pharmaceutics. The ideal candidate will bring academic and leadership excellence, a collaborative mindset, and the passion to help build a globally connected engineering program. The role delivers comprehensive lessons alongside international faculty from the United States, Europe, and beyond, supporting high-quality instruction, mentorship, and capacity building through virtual and hybrid platforms. Educational Level Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a closely related field Preferred Skills Experience coordinating international or virtual academic programs; familiarity with ABET or similar accreditation standards; experience working in multicultural and interdisciplinary environments. Experience Required Academic or research experience at the rank of Associate Professor or higher, with demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic setting Compensation & Positions Salary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience Positions Available: 2 Requirements Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a closely related field Academic or research experience at the rank of Associate Professor or higher Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic setting Strong track record in teaching, research, and mentorship Demonstrated proficiency with relevant biological databases, day-to-day software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite), bioinformatics and computational tools (e.g., BLAST, SnapGene, TASSEL, R, Python, SPSS), and advanced molecular, analytical, and bioprocess technologies (e.g., PCR/qPCR, NGS, flow cytometry, chromatography, mass spectrometry, automated laboratory systems) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to educational quality, innovation, and community impact Responsibilities Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Biotechnology curriculum aligned with international standards Support and coordinate a virtual teaching program with international professionals and diaspora experts Ensure alignment with ABET accreditation standards by overseeing course material quality, student progress, and academic outcomes Supervise course projects and bring cutting-edge research and industry-relevant innovation knowledge to students through mentoring Contribute actively to departmental and institutional governance by serving on academic committees to achieve institutional strategic goals Foster collaborations with national and international research and technology organizations How to Apply Place of Application Shaggar Institute of Technology, Koyye Feche office with in working days after of this announcement Address Shaggar Institute of Technology, Infront of Koyye Feche Woreda office, 2nd Floor Incubation Building Send Your Application To chair.ee@sitedu.info Language Skills Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are required for this academic position.
