Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Anesthesiologist Critical Care role based in Debre Birhan. The role involves providing perioperative anesthesia care, managing critically ill patients in intensive care settings, and supporting surgical teams during complex procedures. Daily tasks include preoperative assessment, administering anesthesia, monitoring patients during and after surgery, and overseeing pain management plans. The anesthesiologist will collaborate with surgeons, critical care nurses, and other clinicians to stabilize patients with life-threatening conditions, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. The role may also include teaching medical learners and contributing to quality improvement and clinical research within the university hospital.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Anesthesiology and Medicine, with demonstrated ability to manage perioperative and critical care cases.
Experience collaborating with Critical Care Nursing professionals in intensive care units to deliver coordinated patient care.
Clinical exposure to Surgery, including support for major and emergency procedures in an operating room environment.
Competence in Pain Management, including acute and postoperative pain control and use of multimodal analgesia.
Medical degree (MD or equivalent) and specialized training or residency in Anesthesiology; board certification or eligibility is preferred.
Experience in critical care settings, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and resuscitation.
Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, continuous learning, and evidence-based medicine.
Strong communication, teamwork, and teaching skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic and clinical environment.
