Role Description The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial activities, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing periodic financial statements. This full-time, on-site role in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia involves processing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and supporting budgeting and cost-control efforts. The Accountant will ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies while assisting with financial reporting for management and external stakeholders. The role also includes supporting audits, maintaining organized financial records, and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to provide accurate, timely financial information that supports decision-making. Qualifications Strong skills in financial accounting, bookkeeping, and general ledger management. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Ability to prepare financial reports, assist with budgeting, and support cost analysis. Familiarity with local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit support. Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets; comfort with basic data analysis. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on-site. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification is an advantage. Prior experience in a healthcare or medical practice environment is beneficial. Ability to work in Addis Ababa full time and adapt to a dynamic, growing organization.
