, a Senior Accountant – Juba
Purpose of the Role:
Provide management with accurate and timely financial data to assist in managing resources, ensuring that financial records are maintained in accordance with
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
and company policies.
Key Objectives:
Strategic budgeting and revenue/expenditure projections
Cost containment and purchasing management
Cash flow management and debt servicing
Proactive tax planning
Accurate record keeping and financial reporting
Internal control and risk management planning
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate cost and budget accounting functions
Prepare project cost analyses, revenue projections, and expenditure forecasts
Manage tax compliance according to regulations and company procedures
Maintain expense accounts, cost accounting systems, and ledgers
Support month-end and year-end closing, including audits
Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts
Post transactions on ERP accounting software
Prepare financial reports and assist with internal controls
Supervise and support junior accounting staff
Perform other delegated accounting duties as required
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
First Degree in Accounting & Finance or CPA with 10 years’ experience (5 years in senior management), or Postgraduate in Accounting/Finance with 5 years’ industry experience
Desirable:
Administrative experience
Languages:
Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is encouraged
Knowledge of other international languages is a plus
Skills & Attributes:
Initiative, motivation, and self-supervision
Strong team-building and interpersonal skills
Computer literate with excellent MS Office skills; knowledge of ERP/SAP is a plus
Ability to apply IFRS and financial management techniques
Adaptable, culturally aware, and able to work under pressure
