Detailed Job Description:
The Travel Consultant will be responsible for managing customer travel bookings, issuing tickets, and ensuring smooth travel arrangements. The role requires accuracy, customer service excellence, and strong knowledge of airline systems.
Key Duties:
Handle flight reservations and issue tickets using airline reservation systems (Galileo and other GDS platforms).
Provide accurate fare quotations, rebooking options, and travel itineraries to clients.
Assist customers with inquiries regarding schedules, fares, baggage policies, and travel requirements.
Process payments, refunds, cancellations, and ticket revalidations in compliance with company and airline policies.
Maintain updated knowledge of airline promotions, special offers, and travel regulations.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and activity reports for management.
Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless travel arrangements.
Resolve customer complaints and provide timely solutions to enhance client satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with IATA, airline, and company standards in all ticketing activities.
Uphold professional communication and maintain a high level of customer service at all times.
Apply practical experience gained at IATAcertified travel agency to ensure international standards are met.
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Galileo and other booking systems to manage complex itineraries.
Communicate effectively in English with international clients, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
Bring solid experience in call center handling to manage highvolume customer inquiries efficiently and professionally.
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma with IATA foundation in Travel & Tourism and or in reservation and airline ticketing.
8-10 years of hands on experience working in IATA accredited travel agency.
Proficiency in reservation systems and Certificate in Galileo is mandatory.
Practical experience in airline reservation and ticketing system.
Solid experience in call center handling.
Strong communication skills in English and Amharic (additional languages are an advantage).
Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
