Commercials Assistant
to support our commercial operations, customer contract administration, project governance, and revenue recognition processes.
The Role
The Commercials Assistant will play a key role in supporting the commercial lifecycle of customer engagements, from contract and Statement of Work (SOW) creation through to project milestone tracking, customer sign-off, and handover to Accounts Receivable (AR).
Working closely with Project Managers, Delivery Leads, Sales teams, Finance, and customers, you will help ensure that commercial documentation is accurate, project milestones are properly tracked, and customer approvals are obtained promptly to support invoicing and cash collection.
This role requires exceptional attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesContract & Commercial Administration
Assist with the creation, review, and administration of customer contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), Change Requests, and commercial documentation.
Ensure contractual documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with internal processes.
Maintain contract records and document repositories.
Track contract approvals and renewals.
Project Milestone Management
Work closely with Project Managers and Delivery teams to monitor contractual milestones and deliverables.
Maintain milestone trackers and commercial project records.
Proactively identify upcoming customer acceptance and sign-off requirements.
Ensure project documentation supports milestone achievement and invoicing requirements.
Customer Engagement & Sign-Off
Liaise professionally with customers to coordinate milestone acceptance and project sign-off activities.
Manage customer communications relating to project completion, deliverable acceptance, and commercial approvals.
Follow up outstanding approvals and maintain accurate records of customer responses.
Revenue & Finance Support
Facilitate smooth handover of approved milestones to the Accounts Receivable team for invoicing.
Ensure all supporting documentation required for invoicing is complete and available.
Assist with revenue recognition and forecasting activities by maintaining accurate commercial records.
Support finance teams with contract and project-related queries.
Reporting & Governance
Produce regular reports on project milestones, customer sign-offs, and invoicing readiness.
Support internal audits and compliance activities.
Help improve commercial processes, templates, and governance controls.
Skills & ExperienceEssential

Desirable
Previous experience in a commercial, contracts, project administration, PMO, finance support, or operations role.
Experience within a technology consultancy, software company, or professional services environment.
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).
Experience working with Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Services Agreements (MSAs), and Change Requests.
Understanding of project governance and milestone-based billing.
Exposure to ERP, PSA, CRM, or project management systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Azure DevOps, NetSuite, FinancialForce, Certinia, or similar).
Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and commercial project accounting.
Experience supporting invoice preparation or accounts receivable processes.
