About the Role
VAS Global Services is looking for an experienced
Accountant – Operations
to manage the financial activities of our Visa Application Centre in
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
.
The role will be responsible for branch accounting, cash and revenue reconciliation, financial reporting, payroll support, refunds, audit preparation, and compliance, while working closely with the central Finance team and operational departments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
Handle cash collections, visa fees, VAS revenue, POS settlements, and bank deposits.
Manage billing, fee collection, service charges, and revenue postings.
Process and monitor refunds, waivers, and revenue adjustments.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and revenue reports.
Perform cash, bank, POS, and revenue reconciliations.
Support payroll processing, including attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions, and incentives.
Monitor revenue, transaction volumes, payroll costs, and operational expenses.
Support budgeting, cost control, vendor payments, and expense management.
Investigate financial discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action.
Maintain accurate and audit-ready financial records.
Support internal, statutory, and external audits.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax, statutory requirements, accounting standards, and internal financial controls.
Work closely with the central Finance team and other operational departments.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field
.
4–5 years of experience
in accounting, finance, or audit.
Strong experience in cash, bank, POS, and revenue reconciliation.
Experience in financial reporting and accounting operations.
Experience with payroll, incentives, allowances, and related calculations.
Good knowledge of
tax, statutory compliance, and financial controls
.
Experience supporting internal and external audits.
Strong knowledge of
Microsoft Excel
and accounting/ERP systems.
Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
Experience within
BPO, Visa Services, Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, Banking, or service-centre operations
is an advantage.
CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification
is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment.
