Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Elevator Technician role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Elevator Technician will install, maintain, and repair passenger lifts and related electro-mechanical systems in accordance with safety regulations and company standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine inspections, identifying and troubleshooting faults, replacing or adjusting mechanical and electrical components, and ensuring optimal elevator performance. The role also involves documenting work performed, reporting issues and recommendations to supervisors, and coordinating with project engineers and other trades on site. The Elevator Technician is expected to follow all safety procedures, participate in testing and commissioning activities, and provide support during handover to clients. Qualifications Strong skills in Elevator Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, with experience servicing passenger lifts. Hands-on expertise working with Elevators, including installation, inspection, and performance checks. Solid understanding of Electricity and electrical safety practices in electro-mechanical systems. Proven Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently. Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or related engineering field. Knowledge of relevant safety standards and building regulations for lift systems. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer manuals. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and site teams. Willingness to work on-site, respond to urgent maintenance calls, and adapt to changing project needs. Previous experience with building systems (power, fire protection, HVAC integration) is an advantage.
