Position: Manager Civil (Projects) Organization: Raval Group Location: Ethiopia (Frequent travel between group companies at the different locations in Ethiopia) Qualification: B.Tech. Civil Experience: 8-10 years in rolling Mill and SMS projects Reporting To: Managing Director / Chairman Position Summary The Manager Civil (Projects) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and controlling all civil, infrastructure, industrial, and expansion projects across the Raval Group. The role will ensure timely execution, cost control, quality compliance, contractor management, statutory approvals, and coordination among all stakeholders for projects in all Group Companies in Ethiopia. The incumbent will act as the single-point coordinator between management, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Execution Lead and coordinate all ongoing and upcoming civil, mechanical, electrical, utility, and infrastructure projects. Develop project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans. Ensure projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required. Coordinate simultaneous projects across multiple locations. 2. Civil Construction Management Supervise all civil construction activities including: Industrial buildings Factory sheds Warehouses Roads and drainage systems Administrative buildings Utility structures Boundary walls Water reservoirs and infrastructure Ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications. Verify work measurements and contractor bills. 3. Reporting & Documentation 4. Project Planning, BOQ & Execution Control Ensure all project activities are planned and executed strictly as per the approved drawings, coordinates, layouts, specifications, and instructions provided by the consultants and design agencies. Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for all civil, infrastructure, utility, and industrial projects and verify the accuracy, completeness, and commercial viability of BOQs submitted by consultants before tendering and execution. Establish project execution schedules, milestones, and resource deployment plans to ensure timely completion of all projects. Monitor project progress on a daily basis and ensure that work is completed as per the approved schedule, budget, quality standards, and safety requirements. Develop and implement corrective action plans in case of project delays, quality deviations, or cost overruns. ** 5. Contract Management & Cost Optimization** Lead negotiations with contractors, vendors, consultants, and service providers to achieve commercially favorable terms for the organization. Ensure all project contracts are executed in a cost-effective manner while maintaining the required quality, technical specifications, and project timelines. Review and recommend contract awards based on technical evaluation, commercial competitiveness, project requirements, and long-term value to the organization. Monitor contractor performance, productivity, compliance, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality, safety, or operational requirements. ** 6. Department Structuring & Reporting Systems** Design, establish, and continuously improve the Project Coordination Department structure to support current and future organizational growth. Define roles, responsibilities, reporting relationships, accountability matrices, and performance indicators for all personnel within the department. Develop and implement standardized project reporting systems for management review and decision-making. Prepare and enforce Hourly, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reporting formats covering: Project Progress Manpower Deployment Equipment Utilization Material Consumption Contractor Performance Budget Utilization Safety Observations Quality Compliance Critical Issues and Action Plans Establish project dashboards and MIS systems to provide real-time visibility of project status to senior management. Ensure timely submission of project reports and maintain accurate documentation and records for all projects under execution.
