The Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA) is inviting eligible recent graduates to apply for its 2026 paid Communication Internship Program in Addis Ababa. The four-month internship is designed for graduates of Journalism, Communication, and related fields who are interested in media, gender equality, women’s rights advocacy, and communications. About Ethiopian Media Women Association The Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit organization established in 1999. The organization works to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment within the media sector and beyond. EMWA's activities include capacity building for women media professionals, gender-sensitive journalism training, advocacy against gender-based violence (GBV), and promotion of ethical and inclusive media practices. Internship Overview Organization: Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA) Position: Communication Intern Job Type: Paid Internship Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Duration: Four months Internship Period: September–December 2026 Commitment: Full-time Working Days: Monday–Friday Working Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Salary: Based on EMWA's organizational salary scale Application Deadline: September 9, 2026 Communication Intern The Communication Intern will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in media, communications, content creation, project management, and gender and media advocacy. Eligibility and Requirements Applicants should meet the following requirements: Be a recent graduate with a BA degree obtained within the last two years. Degree field should be Journalism, Communication, or a related field. Have a strong interest in gender, media, and women's rights advocacy. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Have creativity and innovative thinking abilities. Be able to create engaging content. Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration skills. Show eagerness to learn and grow. Demonstrate commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and ethical conduct. Eligibility: This internship opportunity is open to female candidates only, as stated in the vacancy announcement.
